Not been a great week. Thomas was off school with a stomach bug on Tuesday and I seem to have picked it up myself on Wednesday/Thursday - to be honest was still feeling rough on Friday. This combined curiously with the Codeine tablets I am taking to give me the worst of both worlds intestinally speaking!! I won't get too graphic but an unpleasant time was had by all.
The bone scan on Thursday would normally have been pretty uneventful - apart from the fact I have a bad back (the reason for the scan) and was feeling nauseous all day. The first part at 2pm was an injection of a radio-active marker. I then hung around Derby for 3 hours before going back for the scan.
The second part was lying still on my back whilst the gamma camera took images of different sections of my body. 5 in total for 3 mins each. I have to say 15 mins never took so long and on a number of times I thought the bill for the procedure was going to include a vomit cleaning fee! However I survived and now need to wait for the results on Wednesday when I see Dr. Kulkarni (Elvis).
Great to hear from the Croughton boys and Ian this week. Hopefully we can arrange suitable dates for visits in the next few weeks.

Let's hope those bone scans have some good news for you. Keep the posts coming. I'd be interested to know if you are doing any other writing when you feel well enough? You have a nice style of writing, getting the message across eloquently and with humour. They must have taught us well at Ramsey. Actually I was dropped from the top to the second class in English - how dare they!
ReplyDeleteHi John,
ReplyDeleteAs a wise man once noted (Edmund Blackadder I think!) everyone has at least one novel in them. Not done anything yet but have thought about it a few times.
Just had a visit from David.
Cheers
